Bird netting project Ashford, Kent – County Bird Control
Installation of bird netting for Fuse Rail and Network Rail to stop pigeons from landing on beams above staircases | County Bird Control
Client: Fuse Rail/Network Rail.
Project: 50mm Bird netting installation to staircases and bridge platforms.
The client, Fuse Rail, E & P Solutions, had removed the previous bird netting to give them access to install new staircase and bridge/platform lighting and new emergency lighting and wiring.
The project consisted of installing new pigeon control netting, a new 2mm tension wire system and an abundance of beam clips to keep everything in place.
The bird netting installation was to last 5 working days. Over 200 metres of netting was installed to protect all the beams in the roof area – a favoured spot for feral pigeons.
The original protection had black zips installed into the net for access to lighting. We switched this out to black ‘S’ Clips which do the same job but are more discreet.
Bird proofing used:
Various length bird control nets were installed above all staircases and bridges.
2mm net wire around the perimeter of all beams.
Size 6 Barrel Strainers.
Galfan longlife hog rings.
Various fixings and accessories.
The project was completed on time and within budget.
