Are Seagulls Protected?
Yes. Seagulls are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. You can’t move or destroy nests without a licence, even if they’re on your roof.
However, preventative measures like spikes, netting and proofing can be used outside of the breeding season. These are legal and effective — and best installed early.
